Canadian Travel News
Expanding on their Reykjavik sale (under $600!), Icelandair is now offering fares to their continental European destinations (via Iceland) for not much more.
Most deals still appear to be for the end of the season (September/October), and at the moment only appear to apply to Edmonton, Halifax and Toronto. Just a few that are currently available include (total return fares in $USD):
There are a number of other connections available as well. Check out Google Flight Explorer or Icelandair to book. Keep in mind that Icelandair is also very accommodating as far as scheduling stopovers in Reykjavik at no additional cost.
LOT is also offering deals to (in this case eastern) Europe, including destinations in Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Russia, Romania, Belarus and the Czech Republic for ~$700 USD return.
Also, using those same settings on Google Flight Explorer, you’ll see great Air Transat sale fares to Dublin, Barcelona, Rome, Amsterdam and Venice, all for under $700 USD and leaving in the few weeks.
A few sale Air Transit fares from Toronto to Florida this morning — Sky Tours is showing Fort Lauderdale for just $162 return. Kayak (flex month) also turns up a few remaining seats for other dates to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando in June for ~$200 USD.
Some good deals from Aeroflot this week for trips to St. Petersburg, Russia from Toronto, with some dates available for under $700 return.
If you can arrange a visa quickly, (or are a Russian national) the cheapest options are for early June (as low as $634 US), but there are big discounts showing for over the next few months as well. Use Kayak, Google Flight Explorer or Aeroflot directly to find available dates.
Note added May 29 — Moscow now added to this sale as well, with return flights totalling $700 CAD for dates in June and July.
Westjet announced last fall that seasonal service to Ireland would start in 2014 (running June through October). Right now there’s a few great deals available from St. John’s at the end of the season.
The best I saw was just $529 total (Oct 19-24). There are a number of other combinations to be found in the $600 range as well. Check westjet.com, Kayak (flex month), or the newly resurrected Google Flight Explorer to find available options.
Service to Dublin is discounted from most other Canadian cities for travel later this year as well, some fares look to be in the $700-800 range.
Expanding on their sale offer from Edmonton earlier this month, Icelandair is now listing return flights to Reykjavik from Halifax and Toronto as well for under $600 total.
Service (with connections) from Calgary, Montreal, Victoria, Ottawa and Winnipeg is discounted as well, but not nearly as much as these three departures.
A considerable discount to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from Toronto is available for travel towards the end of the year.
The cheapest bookable combination appears to be ~$777 CAD for December 4-10 (shown below). There doesn’t appear to be a wide range of available dates, try Skyscanner to look for other combinations.
Haligonians looking to visit Europe this summer have some very reasonable options next month. Condor (corporate partners with Thomas Cook and Lufthansa) is currently offering a range of dates to Frankfurt, Germany for ~$600 CAD total.
The cheapest combination I noticed was June 5-June 17 for just $530 USD (~$575 CAD).
There appear to be a number of date combinations that work at the moment. You can search for available options on a number of sites including Skycanner, Kayak (USD calendar fares displayed below), Hipmunk, Expedia or directly from Condor.
Unprecedented deals from many Canadian airports to a handful of destinations in Asia this evening on Delta and partners.
Use Google Flight Explorer to select ‘Asia’ and search for available date combinations from your airport. Alternatively, search using flexible dates on delta.com. I found fares to Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Seoul and a few others for $3XX-$6XX! No chance these will last long.
